A guarded heart

Hides Zara’s self

So beautiful there

What’s on that shelf

Yet she won’t part

From her heart behind

The deeper thoughts

Within her mind

You know she’s smart

By the things she says

So soft and quiet

Her hair like a fez

I guess in part

What I’d like to say

Is So Fun to be

In like this way

To experience your art

And have our fun

Enlivens my being

Like a marvelous sun.

When we’re apart

I think of you

In admiration

For the things you do

If there was a chart

From low to high

It would need more paper

To touch your sky
